CSIR-CFTRI Recruitment 2026 Tenure of Engagement

The engagement is initially valid up to 31 March 2026 and may be extended up to 31 March 2027 depending on project requirements, performance of the candidate, availability of funds, or till the completion of the project—whichever is earlier.

• Maximum Age: 35 years

• Age Relaxation:

  • SC / ST / PwBD / Women: 5 years

CSIR-CFTRI Recruitment 2026 Stipend / Salary Details

• ₹31,000 + HRA – For candidates who have qualified National Eligibility Tests such as CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, etc.

• ₹25,000 + HRA – For candidates without NET/GATE qualification

The stipend is as per CSIR norms applicable to project staff

CSIR-CFTRI Recruitment 2026 Educational Qualifications

Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in:

• Mechanical Engineering

• Material Science

• Polymer Science

• Food Science & Technology

• Chemical Engineering

• Engineering or Technology (relevant disciplines)

OR

Master’s Degree (M.Sc.) in:

• Food Science & Technology

• Chemistry or equivalent discipline

Only candidates who have completed their qualification and whose results are declared are eligible. Final-year or result-awaited candidates are not eligible to apply.

CSIR-CFTRI Recruitment 2026 Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be required to:

• Carry out Research & Development (R&D) work

• Assist in project-related experimental and analytical tasks

• Work on polymeric film extrusion and material development, as assigned by the project investigator.

CSIR-CFTRI Recruitment 2026 Desirable Qualification / Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Diploma from CIPET along with an Engineering degree

• Hands-on experience in polymer film extrusion

• Experience with twin screw extruders

• Master’s degree in Material Science / Polymer Science / Plastic Technology

However, meeting desirable qualifications does not guarantee selection.

CSIR-CFTRI Recruitment 2026 Important Eligibility Condition (6-Year Rule)

As per CSIR guidelines:

• A candidate must not have completed 6 years as Project Staff in CSIR labs/institutes.

• Candidates who have already completed 6 years of total project tenure in CSIR are not eligible to apply under any circumstances.

• Shortlisting may be based on:

  • Relevant experience
