IIT Jammu JRF Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must fulfill the following essential qualifications:

• M.Sc. in Chemical Sciences with specialization in Electrochemistry

• Minimum 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA

• Minimum 60% marks (or 6.5 CGPA) throughout academic career starting from Class XII

National Level Examination Qualification

Candidates must be qualified in any one of the following:

• GATE

• CSIR-UGC NET (including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship)

• Any other national-level eligibility test conducted by central government agencies such as DST, DBT, DRDO, IITs, IISc, IISERs, ICAR, ICMR, etc.

IIT Jammu JRF Recruitment 2026 Desirable Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Electrocatalysis and Physical Chemistry

• Hands-on experience in electrochemical techniques and systems

• Research exposure related to materials chemistry will be an added advantage

• Upper Age Limit: 28 years

• Age Relaxation: Up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/Women and Physically Handicapped candidates as per Government of India rules

• Fellowship: ₹31,000 per month + HRA (as applicable)

• Duration: Initially 6 months, extendable based on performance and project requirements

• The position is co-terminus with the project
